Ping pong

I got back from a week in Thailand the other day.

I’ve never been there before, and it was a fascinating experience. Aside from the beach, cheap food and beverage, and humble people I took notice of how the people there have completely submitted to the tourism industry. Anyone not selling custom tailored costumes, fake Louis Vuitton handbags, or improvised massages most likely works in the restaurant or hotel business.

One night in Patong me and my friend walked on – what we think is – the main street and were amazed by the endless amount of bars and pole dancers, when we suddenly decided to give in to one of the very many, very intrusive barkers that advertised something called a “ping pong show“. Well, that was a mistake. Turns out that there are a lot of nasty things these girls do with their vaginas. Aside from the obvious fun stuff like blowing a whistle and shooting darts at balloons we found out that they really do anything with their bodies for the right amount of money. And Europeans are typically not viewed as poor by the natives.

Now, if you’re a sensitive reader I would recommend that you stop reading by this point.

What really grossed us out and made me realize exactly how skewed the sex industry is down there was when one girl pulled out a string from inbetween. This particular string was very long, around 10 meters, and spiked with razorblades every 30 centimeters or so (that’s one foot). By that point we decided to leave the bar and head home.

The man raises a good point

I recently started using GitHub. It’s amazing!

Hej världen!

Hello world!

Finally, I have a proper blog that – I think – will suit my needs. I like WordPress’ backend so that’s what I’m using. The theme has been heavily molested by me, creds for the boilerplate goes to aarontgrogg.

The filtering at the top gets progressively sexier if you have Javascript turned on. The buttons are styled divs with hidden checkboxes that retains the ability to actually submit.

The plan is to allow for permalinks and stuff, but I’m not feeling too well right now, so that’ll have to wait until after my vacation.
